Concept Description

Babel by R.F. Kuang is a dark academia fantasy about how language, translation, and scholarship are used as tools of imperial power, and what it costs to resist that system. This project takes these themes and creates them into a cinematic book trailer that captures the novel’s tension between knowledge and violence, using imagery of language, silver, chains, and the tower.
